Bangladesh Association
of New Jersey, Inc. is incorporated as a non-profit organization in the
state of New Jersey. It is also registered as a non-profit organization
under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. It is a non-profit,
voluntary, nonpartisan, nonsectarian, nonpolitical, and secular forum organized
exclusively for cultural, educational and charitable purposes. Anyone
who subscribes to the BANJ charter is allowed to become a member on payment
of the prescribed fees. BANJ was incorporated as an organization in 1995.

BANJ is dedicated to promoting the cultural and ethnic heritage of the Bangladeshi community in New Jersey. Every year, it organizes several cultural programs, seminars and an annual picnic to celebrate Bengali heritage and culture, and improve the communication among the members of the community. BANJ also acts as the representative of the Bangladeshi community of New Jersey to national events such as FOBANA (Forum of Bangladeshi Associations of North America) Conference, Nazrul Sammelon, and other cultural and literary conferences. BANJ has been active in addressing issues in local and national areas. Members of BANJ participate on various local and national forums that serve the interests of Bangladeshi community. It also uses its resources to help critical causes such as helping the flood victims of Bangladesh. |

Message from the President
Welcome to the BANJ Web page. We are setting up this web page to keep you better informed about the plans and activities of Bangladesh Association of New Jersey, Inc. As many of you know, BANJ was established in 1995 as an organization of the Bangladeshi community of New Jersey. The key objectives of BANJ are to: · Promote Bangla culture and heritage
· Improve
friendship and interaction among members of Bangladeshi community
· Promote
activities to help the underprivileged
· Work toward
elimination of prejudice and discrimination
· Advance the
welfare of Bangladeshi communities across USA

The torch has been passed on to
this new committee of 2009-2011. We will follow the ideology on which BANJ was
founded. Our goal for this committee is to bring the community together, so that
we can become a force to be reckoned with. We will be focusing mainly in getting
our new generation involved in our activities. It is our responsibility to make
the new generation aware of our cultural heritage, national achievements and
sacrifices, the endurance and struggle that Bangladesh went through to bring the
joy of freedom.We will carry this torch to the new generation , together we will
illumined the path to a united and stronger community.We would fervently request
all of you to be actively involved with BANJ. |
